Xtreme Gardening Azos – Root Booster for Stronger Roots

Xtreme Gardening Azos is a beneficial bacterial root booster designed to support root development and vegetative growth. Use it when starting cuttings, transplanting young plants or caring for established plants in soil gardens and hydroponic systems.

How Azos supports your plants

Azos contains the nitrogen-fixing bacterium Azospirillum brasilense XOH. These beneficial microbes help convert atmospheric nitrogen into a form plants can use and support natural root-development processes. A well-developed root system helps plants establish in their growing environment.

Directions and applications

The application rates below retain the cup, teaspoon, tablespoon and gallon units from the existing product guidance. Check the current pack instructions for the correct measuring units and application rate before use; do not assume a gallon means a UK imperial gallon.

Cuttings and propagation plugs

1. Add 1/4 cup per gallon of water and soak plugs for 10 minutes, then remove the plugs.
2. In a separate small container, mix 1 part Azos with 2 parts water.
3. Dip the tips of new cuttings into this mixture for 3 seconds, then place them in the prepared plugs.

The existing guidance recommends adjusting water to pH 6.0 when rooting cuttings. Azos is intended to be used without synthetic rooting compounds for this application.

Propagation machines and transplanting

• Propagation machines: add 1 tablespoon per gallon of water.
• Transplanting: dust the root ball of young plants with 1–2 teaspoons of Azos.

Established plants

Mix 1/2 cup per gallon of water. Apply 2 cups of the solution around the base of each plant. One gallon of prepared solution treats 8 plants.

Hydroponic reservoirs and irrigation

Add 1 cup (16 tablespoons) per 50 gallons of water. The existing guidance recommends weekly application during vegetative growth, with no further application once plants move into their reproductive stage.

Getting the best from Azos

Use non-chlorinated water where possible. Follow the current product label for application frequency, compatibility and handling. Azos supports plant nutrition and root development; it should not be presented as a disease treatment or a guaranteed replacement for your usual feeding programme.
