Allium sphaerocephalon, also known as Drumstick Allium, begins with small green buds that gradually take on a deep purple colour as its tiny flowers open. The flower heads eventually fade to ash-coloured seed heads, and the supplier notes that the stems make long-lasting cut flowers. Plant in a sunny spot where the stems won’t be overshadowed, in beds or borders or among ornamental planting. It is also suitable for pots and attracts bees.
These are loose bulbs sourced from a specialist UK bulb supplier and packed by Go Grow in a recyclable paper bag.
