OUTDOORS

Sow in short shallow drills about 1cm deep in the open ground of fine soil. When seedlings are about 10cm (4") tall, transplant to the growing site spacing 35cm (15") apart. Make sure the soil is firm around the roots and water well. If conditions are too dry in May, try sowing seed in plug trays. These can then be easily planted out without disturbing the roots as soon as conditions improve.
