This user friendly meter from Growgadgets measures how acidic or alkaline a solution or a soil is.

The scale is from 1-14.

Most acidic = 1

Neutral = 7

Most alkaline = 14

Optimal plant pH = 6 to 6.5

pH outside of the range 6 to 6.5 and nutrients will be locked out and the plant will be unable to absorb the food it needs. The results are stunted growth and maybe death.
